Nature Photography Day, a promotion sponsored by the North American Photography Association (NANPA), started in 2006.
This occasion highlights the beauty of nature using photography and promotes conservation. On this day people are encouraged to take their cameras to their favorite outdoor location and capture the beauty. NANPA encourages that people use modes of transportation with zero carbon emission.
Nature photography is defined as photography taken outdoors and includes elements of nature such as plants, birds, wildlife and landscapes.
