DESCRIPTION:
The American Bald Eagle became the official bird and symbol of the United States on June 20, 1782 when the US congress adopted the official seal of the United States. It took six years to agree on the design, which is today one of the most recognized seals in history.
On this day, people are encouraged to adopt-a-bald eagle and help in the rehabilitation of it natural habitat learn about the American Bald Eagle.
President Ronald Reagan decreed American Bald Eagle Day on January 28, 1982.
