DESCRIPTION:
Most of us are familiar with WWII and the rise of fascism in Italy and Germany, most notably, but not exclusively. Throughout Europe, people rose against fascism. In modern-day Croatia, that task fell to the First Sisak Partisan Detachment, which formed on June 22, 1941.
Antifascist Day in Croatia celebrates their bravery and contribution to ending fascism and fighting against the invading armies and is a national holiday.
