National Gingersnap Day is an annual celebration of gingersnaps.
While celebrated in the US, the gingersnap is famous worldwide. Gingersnaps are thin cookies made with molasses (treacle) and ground ginger. Variations of gingersnaps include American, Scandinavian, and Asian, and ginger is prized for its stomach calming abilities.
