DESCRIPTION:
Narali Poornima occurs on the full moon of the month of Shravan (Sawan).
Naral is Hindi for "coconut." Offerings of coconuts are made to the sea gods as part of this ritual to mark the beginning of the fishing season to appease anger and assure a good catch.
Singing and dancing and sweet coconut rice are served throughout the day.
