Initiated by undergraduates Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper, and Frank Coleman, Omega Psi Phi fraternity is the first black fraternity founded at a historically black college on November 17, 1911. Its letters represent the Greek saying, “friendship is essential to the soul.”
