Anne is for Anne Frank, the author of the Diary of Anne Frank. Anne died in a concentration camp less than two months before the end of WWII in Europe. She was just sixteen years old.
Samantha is for Samantha Smith who is known as the world's youngest ambassador. She wrote a letter to the head of the Soviet Union, Yuri Andropov, congratulating him on his new job and bring to understand the Cold War. After a couple of letters, she finally received an answer from the leader. This got her an invitation to visit, from which she wrote a book. Samantha died on August 25, 1985 in a plane crash. She was only 13.
