Since 1608, when the first Polish settlers arrived at Jamestown, Virginia, Polish people have been an essential part of America's history and culture. Polish American Heritage Month first ran in 1981, beginning in Philadelphia, PA. Later it became a national celebration of Polish history, culture, and pride.
