Created in 1972 by President Richard M Nixon, National Coaches Day follows World Teacher Day each year.
For many students, coaches function as second parents. They teach us teamwork, competition, how to aspire and how to gracefully lose. For professionals, coaches are mentors, managers, and support. Often selfless and salty, coaches play an essential role in the lives of generations of men and women. Today is about honoring their work and their legacy.
