DESCRIPTION:
The first Friday of October is National Denim Day.
Clothing manufacturer HD Lee started the day as a fundraiser in support of the women's cancer programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Today it is sponsored by the American Cancer Association.
Participants are asked on this day to donate the money they would have spent on a pair of jeans to support breast cancer research and wellness programs.
