About the Hindu Day of Maha Saptami

DESCRIPTION:
Maha Saptami is the seventh day of the grand Durga Puja celebration and commences with the eyes of the goddess Durga opening on this day.
Mahalaya is performed as part of the final countdown of Durga puja starting from Maha Saptami. Devotees offer flowers and prayers and keep fast on Maha Saptami's day.
In the evening, a grand arti is performed to goddess Durga in Pandals and at home.
