Chicken Dance Day pays homage to the accordion tune popularized by Werner Thomas of Davos, Switzerland, in the 1960s. The song is derived from the Swiss song "Der Ententanz" (The Duck Dance).
Essentially it's a drinking song, most commonly played as part of the Oktoberfest celebrations.
