Food Allergy Research & Education, Inc. (FARE) created Food Allergy Awareness Week in 1998 to educate the public about food allergies, a potentially life-threatening medical condition.
Beginning in 2014, the entire month of May became Food Allergy Action Month.
Food Allergy Awareness Week spotlights food allergies and anaphylaxis.
