National Headache & Migraine Awareness Month seeks to raise awareness about headaches and their undervalued effect on our health.
Every year, the National Headache Foundation (NHF) organizes a series of events nationwide to educate the public about the different reasons headaches occur and the importance of a quick reaction once you start feeling pain.
The objectives of this month are:
1) To gain recognition of headache pain as a real and legitimate condition.
2) Encourage those with headaches or migraines to see a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment.
3) To let individuals with headaches know that new treatments are available.
