About Youth Appreciation Week

DESCRIPTION:
Since 1956, International Optimist Clubs have hosted Youth Appreciation Week to demonstrate a commitment to young people. Youth Appreciation Week can be held anytime during the year, but the most common dates are the third week of November.
High Schools typically select students to represent them at the annual local chapter's Optimists Dinner. It recognizes the accomplishments of the youth in the home, school, place of worship, and community.
