DESCRIPTION:
Invented in China, the kite has been around for approximately 2,300 years.
The timing of National Kite Flying Day often coincides with the Hindu Basant Festival of Kites, which usually occurs in February. Of course, February and March are great kite flying months in the northern hemisphere, as winter months tend to be windy.
National Kite Flying Day is an unofficial event in the United States.
