DESCRIPTION:
The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) and its network of state affiliates, self-advocates, families, and volunteers mark Brain Injury Awareness Month each March. A brain injury can happen anytime, anywhere, to anyone, and brain injuries do not discriminate. Over 2.4 million Americans sustain a brain injury each year.
This month focuses on providing early detection, equal access to health care, and educating the public on best practices in preventing brain injuries.
Canada observes its Brain Injury Awareness Month in June.
