The courageous follower provides emotional support for leaders but does not hesitate to speak truth to power constructively. He or she offers a model of bold leadership that creates conditions in which it is easier for followers to talk about the facts as they see them and for leaders to give appropriate consideration to what they are being told. When they work well together, leaders and followers create a true partnership and better service any organization's mission.
Great leaders learn to lead first as followers.
