Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami in Japan occurred on Friday, March 11, 2011. The magnitude 9.0 undersea earthquake was the biggest earthquake in Japan’s history and the fourth most powerful of the modern age.
This deadly earthquake, followed by a tsunami, claimed over 16,000 lives. Millions more were left without electricity, and hundreds of thousands of buildings were damaged, half collapsed, or were destroyed.
