DESCRIPTION:
World Squittleday, a combination of squid and cuttlefish, celebrates the squid and cuttlefish, one of four species of cephalopods. Squid and cuttlefish look similar; squid are speedy predators, and cuttlefish take their time, moving slowly. Squid look like torpedoes, whereas cuttlefish are broader and a little roomier. Both have internal shells.
Cephalopods are a species of marine animals and include squid, octopuses, cuttlefish, and nautiluses. There are over 800 species worldwide, and they've been with us for over 300,000 years. Each year, marine scientists across the globe celebrate International Cephalopods Awareness Days in October as a teaching tool and a call for marine environmental preservation.
