Spearheaded by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) and supported by various legal institutions, educational establishments, and civil society organizations, this month-long campaign seeks to underscore the fundamental principles that sustain democracy and societal order.
The primary aim of Rule of Law Month is to enhance public understanding and appreciation of the rule of law as the cornerstone of a democratic society. Activities and programs throughout the month focus on educating citizens about their rights and responsibilities, promoting transparency and accountability in governance, and encouraging active participation in the legal and justice systems.
DEFINING THE RULE OF LAW
The rule of law is a principle under which all members of society, including those in government, are equally subject to publicly disclosed legal codes and processes.
