DESCRIPTION:
Navratri is the nine-day festival of the goddess Durga’s nine manifestations.
Navratri means nine nights. Following Navratri is the Dussehra festival.
On Sharad Navratri, Hindus worship and observe fast. Idols of the goddess Durga are erected and worshipped. Young girls, called Kanya, are revered and fed as part of the ritual.
