One in 25 American families fight against Digestive Tract Paralysis daily. G-PACT supports these American families who fight against Chronic Intestinal Pseudo-Obstruction (paralysis of the entire digestive tract), Gastroparesis (paralysis of the stomach), and Colonic Inertia (paralysis of the colon) daily. Digestive Tract Paralysis occurs idiopathically (without a known cause) or as a result of a virus (such as an aftereffect of the Chicken Pox virus). It can also be the result of several significant chronic illnesses. These include Diabetes, Dysautonomia, Parkinson's Disease, Lupus, Scleroderma, Cancer, Mitochondrial Disease, Spinal Cord Paralysis, and Cystic Fibrosis.
G-PACT is leading the fight against Digestive Tract Paralysis by pursuing various treatment options through multiple outlets.
In 2009, G-PACT established August as Digestive Tract Paralysis Awareness Month to encompass our founding date, August 23, 2001. This month has become recognized nationally and internationally as the official month to recognize and increase awareness of these conditions.
