The week-long observance aims to raise awareness about the importance and versatility of composite materials, promote industry growth, and encourage innovation in composite technologies.
National Composites Week seeks to educate the public, industry professionals, and policymakers about the benefits and applications of composites. The event highlights the role of composite materials in enhancing product performance, reducing environmental impact, and driving economic growth.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING NATIONAL COMPOSITES WEEK?
Key activities during National Composites Week include:

A composite material is composed of two or more distinct substances that, when combined, produce a material with properties superior to the individual components. The most common composites are made from a matrix (such as plastic, metal, or ceramic) and a reinforcement (such as fibers or particulates). These materials are valued for their high strength-to-weight ratio, durability, and resistance to corrosion and fatigue.
WHERE ARE COMPOSITE MATERIALS USED?
Composite materials are used in a vast array of products across multiple industries. Examples include:
Aerospace—Aircraft components, such as fuselage panels and wing structures.
Automotive—Lightweight vehicle parts, such as body panels and chassis components.
