About National Break-up Day

DESCRIPTION:
National Breakup Day first ran in 2013 and was part of a marketing campaign for Virgin Mobile USA. It occurs the day before Valentine's Day and is your last chance to break off a bad relationship before the day of hearts and flowers arrive.
Based on divorce filings and various polling statistics, International Breakup Day is January 20th. This event earned its moniker by seeing the highest number of romantic couples choose to end their relationships on this day. The general reasoning is that the holidays have passed, and all that looms ahead is Valentine's Day.
