About International Children's Day

International Children's Day was first declared in 1925 at the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland.
The date varies around the world.
In the United States, this event is marked as National Children's Day on the first Sunday of June, as declared by President Bill Clinton in 1998.
In other countries, it can occur in May (the third Friday in May for Jamaica) or later in June. The official international date is always June 1st, and China is the largest country to celebrate this event on the first.
It is a day to celebrate children's rights and focus on the joy of being a child. The United Nations sponsors a second International Children's Day on November 20th, Universal Children's Day.
