About World Down Syndrome Day

DESCRIPTION:
World Down Syndrome Day aims to raise awareness about the nature of Down Syndrome and encourage people and society to treat persons with Down Syndrome as human beings rather than disabled.
Down Syndrome is a naturally occurring chromosomal arrangement that has always been part of the human condition and exists everywhere in the world. Today people with Down Syndrome can be found throughout society, including in high-profile careers like acting and film.
Today is a day to celebrate the possibilities rather than limitations of life with Down Syndrome.
