National Minority Cancer Awareness Month raises awareness about the dangers of cancer and specific risks to minority populations. This was a weekly event. It is now monthly.
Cancer is one of the deadliest killers of our time, and that's especially true for poor and medically underserved populations, which are disproportionately persons of color.
