About National Macaroon Day

DESCRIPTION:
Macaroons first appeared in Italy during the ninth century AD. They are miniature bite-sized cakes made with nut paste, usually almonds, sweeteners, and spices. The first recipe for macaroons appeared in 1725. Macaroon Day celebrates the dessert.
