National Unmarried & Singles Week falls in the third week of September and honors non-married individuals. Created by the Buckeye Singles Council of Ohio more than three decades ago, and politicians often declare it.
Even the US Census Bureau celebrates this week with their survey of single, widowed, divorced, and never marrieds. Roughly 45% of all adults over the age of 18 in the United States are not married, with 53% being women and 47% men-US Census Fact Sheet 2016
