Thunder and lighting, snow, ice, hypothermia and extreme cold are just some of the weather related hazards occurring during the winter. National Winter Weather Safety Day is the annual day the National Weather Service seeks to educate the public about the hazards ahead and how to prepare for them. This is one of four seasonal Safety campaigns sponsored by the National Weather Service each year.
