Orange for Orangutans Day raises awareness on the plight of orangutans and the threat to their natural habitat. Everyone is encouraged to wear orange on this day, and people are holding local events such as orange parties and having orange cake bake sale to create funds for orangutan conservation through Protect Me and My Tree Appeal and the Orangutan Release Programme located in Borneo.
