Latin Grammy Awards is an event usually held in November.
Sponsored by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, this event highlights the works and achievements in the Latin music industry performed in Spanish and Portuguese.
Selections and nominations are made by members of the Latin music industry.
Conceived in 1989, the event was founded by Michael Greene, Rudy Perez and Mauricio Abaroa to represent the broad diversity of Latin music.
The first Latin Grammy Award took place at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, California on September 13, 2000.
The actual date of this event is not announced until a couple months out from the event. Date is estimated. Check with event website for updates. Because this is televised, the actual announced date may change at the last minute.
