DESCRIPTION:
Lizards are members of the reptile family with more than 6,000 species worldwide. The largest is the Komodo Dragon, and with the exception of the bearded lizard and Gila monster, these essential creatures to the ecosystem are not poisonous. Lizards tend to eat insects, which makes them quite useful in gardens. World Lizard Day does not appear to have an origin, however it is marked and celebrated by zoos and other wildlife enthusiast groups internationally. _
