National Healthy and Safe Swimming Week, formally known as the Recreational Water Illness & Injury Prevention Week, occurs the week prior to Memorial Day in the United States.
This week aims to help swimmers and pool operators, aquatic and beach staff, update their knowledge and skills to prevent drowning and increase overall safety. This event first ran in 2005.
