About Memorial Day in the United States

DESCRIPTION:
The last Monday of May is Memorial Day in the United States. It is one of six major US holidays that the majority of people are given as a paid holiday, (the others are 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day and Labor Day).
The day is set aside to remember all those whom have given their lives for the nation. Typically Americans use this 3-day weekend for family gatherings, BBQs, outdoor activities and recreation. It is considered the official kick-off of summer.
