DESCRIPTION:
Lee Baxandall, a naturist and strong advocate for nude beaches beginning in the 1970s founded The Naturist Society (TNS). August 7, 1976, and inaugurated National Nude Beach Day. In 1992, TNS oversaw the expansion of the weekend event into the seven-day Nude Recreation Week.
The event has occurred every year, with various organizations holding several occasions, from trying to break the Skinny Dipping Record to nude days at multiple parks, clubs, and beaches.
