DESCRIPTION:
The Wedding of the Giants in Ath, Belgium, falls on the Saturday before the last Sunday in August. Listed as a UNESCO cultural event, it commemorates the marriage of Goliath and his fiancée. Goliath would soon battle David the shepherd, the biblical story of the little guy winning against the larger. Today the festival is marked by the procession of Ath giants through the town.
