DESCRIPTION:
The first Jane Austen Festival in Bath was held in September 2001 over a weekend, with events taking place at the Jane Austen Centre on Gay Street.
Since, it has grown to be the most significant and longest-running Jane Austen Festival in the world, with over 3500 people taking part annually.
The event's highlight is the Regency Costumed Promenade, a parade attracting over 500 participants in period dress as drummers, dancers, military officers, and navy personnel.
