About National Angel Food Cake Day

DESCRIPTION:
Angel Food Cake Day celebrates the American dessert.
This spongy white cake uses egg whites and cream of tartar rather than butter to create its unique light texture. The first known reference to the cake is in the 1839 cookbook “The Kentucky Housewife” by Lettice Bryan.
