DESCRIPTION:
The third Friday of October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is National Mammography Day. It's a day for raising awareness about the importance of mammograms in cancer prevention and early detection.
Cancer is a primary cause of death worldwide, though many deaths could be prevented with early detection and care. President Clinton initiated this event in 1993.
