About the New York Marathon

DESCRIPTION:
New York Marathon is an annual event held in New York City.
Considered the largest marathon in terms of participants in the world, it is championed by New York Road Runners Club.
Some significant sponsors of this event are Tata Consultancy Services, a multinational IT company headquartered in India, and ING, a financial group.
The first marathon in 1970 hosted 127 runners; the number of runners participating in this event is now over 50,000.
