International Girls' Day is created and supported by the Confidence Coalition. It aims to combat media messages, cultural stereotypes, and peer influences that create a stigma around girls and their future as women. International Girls' Day aims to demonstrate that a girl can become anything she wants to be.
International Girls' Day is separate from the International Day of the Girl Child, which the United Nations sponsors.
