DESCRIPTION:
Magha Puja, Māgha Pūjā, Makha Bucha, or the full moon of Tabodwe, is a Buddhist holy day celebrated at the full moon during the month of Māgha in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. It marks the anniversary of the gathering of 1250 disciples with the Buddha, who did not have an invitation in 531 BC.
Magha Puja is a public holiday where observant Buddhists refrain from sinning and spend the day purifying their minds and souls.
