DESCRIPTION:
The British Open, or "The Open," is the oldest of the four major championships in professional golf.
Held in the United Kingdom and organized by The R&A (The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews), it's the only major golfing championship held outside of the United States before 2022. That year, Saudi Arabia introduced the LIV Golf Invitational, which may play outside of the United States in years to come.
