DESCRIPTION:
National Typewriter Day marks the anniversary when Christopher Latham Sholes was granted a United States patent for his typewriting machine on June 23, 1868.
Typewriters changed how communication works. Letters became professional looking, creating a format that makes letters more legible compared to handwritten correspondence. The typewriter has also opened job opportunities for women.
