Created by the late Peggy Shirley, The Duchess Who Wasn't Day honors Irish novelist Margaret Wolfe Hungerford who wrote under the pen name ''The Duchess."
The Duchess is also the title of her most famous novel.
Hungerford was born in County Cork, Ireland, on August 27, 1850. She would go on to write over 40 novels in her lifetime. She died in 1897.
