Eat a Cranberry Day raises awareness of the anti-oxidant power of cranberries on or near Thanksgiving.
Cranberry Sauce is a key staple in the American holiday feast.
The humble cranberry is one of only three commercially produced fruits native to North America. The first notation of their use was in 1550, relating to how native Americans used them in medicine.
The other two fruits native to North America that are commercially grown are the blueberry and Concord grapes.
