DARE is a comprehensive K-12 education program that originated in 1983. Its goal is to teach students about drugs, violence, bullying, internet safety, and other high-risk situations that may become a part of their lives.
DARE is taught in thousands of schools in the US and 52 other countries around the globe.
National DARE Day is observed each year on the third Thursday of April. It celebrates the contributions and accomplishments of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program, its graduates, officers, schools, and law enforcement agencies.
