Silver Star Families of America Day began in 2004.
The Silver Star Families of America's primary goal is to assist the American soldiers, wounded or who have fallen ill in the line of duty, as well as their families.
The Silver Star is given to those injured or killed in combat. This day supports and advocates for them in educating their families and the public about their plight.
